We had a great Thanksgiving this year. I hope everyone else did as well.
On Thanksgiving at the Lankford’s we have several family members come up. The women stay in and slave over the stoves and the men hang out outside and shoot guns.
Here is a picture of some of the men hanging out waiting for lunch.
David (my cousin) come up and brought a dead coon. Conner did not like this coon at all.
Here are some updated pictures of our basement. It rained at the end of last week and no work was done, but the basement should be finished up soon. It is really cold out this week and they may have to be careful with the mortar freezing. We are hoping for warmer weather soon. The house looks really small right now, but our builder Sammy said it will look bigger when the floor is done.
Around 5:00am this morning Kristen woke me up saying, “Adam, they are out there doing something.” I said cool and went back to sleep. When we got back up, we figured out that they were delivering our brick. They actually dropped 3 pieces in our yard.
When we get home today after work, we see that they have all of the blocks wrapped up and bracing in place to begin blocking the basement. We should see some structure begin to arise tomorrow.
Here is what things are looking like now…
Here is a video of our builder Sammy Evans talking about the basement and our cat Thomas playing in the dirt.
Conner had some fun over the weekend playing in the dirt at our House’s construction site. They have put in gravel to help with preventing mud getting everywhere. The footers are also poured.
The construction crew has started building our new house. I’m going to try to set up a web cam to snap a shot of the progress every minute. I’ll add a link to my blog once I get it working.
They started digging the basement and already have the footers poured. I think they are adding some gravel to reduce the mud today. I’ll try to keep this blog updated with the progress with pictures.

Preparing to Dig a Hole
The Hole (What will be our Basement)
Here is a real boring video of the crew digging the first hole.
OK, it’s Halloween again. My favorite Holiday of the year. Here are some pictures of the Lankford Spook Party this year to get you in the Halloween spirit.
